Still Waiting? Me, too.

My heart, mind, soul, and strength have been focused on waiting for some news I think will come today. You know what it feels like to be on tippy-toes in anticipation—thoughts of Christmas Eve come to mind. Anyway, in light of that distraction, I do not have a new blog post today . . . but I am writing to alert you to the rather impressive thread of comments and dialogue generated by my last two blogs. Very helpful information is offered to shed light on the thinking of those desiring to leave the PC(USA). We also gain terrific insight into a more liberal/progressive mindset on such matters. I commend the whole thread to you for your thoughtful reading.

And thank you to my readers who have entered into a civil discourse and taken the time (oh, the time!) to write cogently and passionately about things that matter to you. I deeply appreciate it. One thing I wish I could change about this is the point-size of the Comments section . . . I haven’t figured out how to improve the formatting so that you can see the print better. For those who haven’t delved into “Comments” yet, you find them by scrolling to the bottom of any post, where in teeny-tiny gray print it says “3 Comments” or “29 Comments.” Click on the word “comments” and the thread reveals itself.

Until tomorrow, be as thrilled as I am that this is true:

“If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit that dwells in you” (Romans 8:11).

“Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine,  to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20f).

  1. Mary, thank you for sharing with us from this day, a day in which many are waiting with you. I am! Your Romans and Ephesians citations also serve to center us on the eternal life promised and which begins when we believe “Jesus Is Lord.” Amen. Enjoying the challenge of living in the “already but not yet” in between times. And your blogs help keep me centered on the truth. Never a Progressive, leaning closer to Orthodoxy. Yes!

  2. I am beginning to wonder if God has decided to put us all on a wait mode. I was praying for some answers and keep getting a “wait answer to my prayers.”

  3. Only those who have not heard “come” or “go” but “wait”, can really relate. It is both an exciting and and anxious time. God bless you as we wait together.
